This Privacy Policy applies to websites, apps, any events and other services operated by KnownSingles.To keep things simple, we refer to all of these as our “services” in this Privacy Policy.

To ensure there is no confusion, we have added links to this Privacy Policy on all applicable services.

If we offer some services that require their own privacy policy, then that policy (not this policy) applies.

3. Information we collect

You should be aware that the only way we can assist you in meeting members on our platform is by receivinginformation you provide about yourself which includes your profile information as well as characteristics of thetypes of people you would like to meet on the platform. We also collect information which is derived fromselections you make as you utilize our services. Please see the additional details covered below.

A. Information you provide to us

You choose to give us certain information when using our services. This includes:

  • When you create a member account, you provide us with at least your login credentials, as well as answers toquestions which are necessary for the service to work, such as your gender and date of birth.
  • When you complete your profile, you share additional information with us, such as details of yourlifestyle, personality and interests as well as other details about you. You also share content such asphotos and videos. To provide content such as pictures or videos, you may allow us to access yourcamera or photo album. Some of the information you choose to provide us may be considered“special” or “sensitive” in certain jurisdictions, for example your racial or ethnic origins, and religiousbeliefs. By choosing to provide this information, you consent to our processing of that information.
  • When you subscribe to our paid subscription service, you provide us and/or our payment service provider with information, such as your credit card number.
  • If you ask us to communicate with or otherwise process information of other people (for example, if youask us to send an email on your behalf to one of your friends), we pass the information about othersthat you give us to a trusted email delivery service in order to complete your request.
  • We use a third party chatkit to process your chats with other users as well as the content you publishin chats, as part of the operation of the services.
  • We keep track of members and matchmakers you have invited to join the platform
  • We keep track of matchmakers you are connected to

B. Information we receive from Matchmakers or Members

In addition to the information you provide us directly, we receive information about you from other users.Other users such as Matchmakers or Members may provide information about you as they use our services

C. Information collected when you use our services

When you use our services, we collect information about features you used, how you used them and thedevices you use to access our services. More information can be found below:

  • Usage Information
    We collect information about your activity on our services, for example – how you use them, date and time youlogged in, what you searched for, specific features you used, what you clicked on and information that hasbeen shown to you. In addition, we gather information regarding how you interact with other users, for example– users you connect with and interact with, number of messages you send and receive, time and date of yourinteractions with the software and other users.
  • Device Information
    We collect the device ID you use to access our services.
    1. Google analytics and apple collect: IP, Device and other details hardware and softwareinformation such as IP address, device ID and type, device-specific and apps settings andcharacteristics, app crashes, operating system, version and language, time zones, identifiersassociated with cookies or other technologies that may uniquely identify your device orbrowser (e.g., IMEI/UDID and MAC address);
    2. information on your wireless and mobile network connection, like your service providerand signal strength;
    3. information on device sensors such as accelerometers, gyroscopes and compasses.
  • Other information with your consent
    If you give us permission, through various means, we can collect your latitude and longitude which provide your exact geolocation, depending on the service and device you’re using, including GPS, Bluetooth or Wi-Ficonnections. Similarly, if you consent, we may collect your photos and videos (for example, if you want topublish a photo, video or streaming on the services)

We use and may allow others to use cookies and similar technologies to recognize you and/or yourdevice(s). We use cookies for authenticating you, remembering your preferences and settings, analyzing sitetraffic and trends.

About

While we were in lockdown and had a lot of time on our hands due to the Coronavirus pandemic, KnownSingles was created by a small team of software professionals in the United States and Sri Lanka. We took advantage of a terrible situation to create a dating and matchmaking app which we feel will provide many singles globally with a very comfortable means to meet their lifelong partners.

The KnownSingles platform will launch in 2024 and will be available via an app on the Apple Store and Google Play Store.
